History
1946 – founded by Mr David Power in Sydney.
1983 – David Power was looking to close down the business in order to retire. Instead, 22 of the 29 employees, undertook one of the first employee co-operative buy-outs in NSW and purchased the company with the financial support of the NSW Government. As a result, all 29 employees kept their jobs.
1986 – David Power Pty Ltd won an Australian Design Award for a newly-invented “Safety Scan” device, and was allocated special advanced technology assistance to get the product into the marketplace.
1990 – another change in ownership with a new group of shareholders – and keeping with tradition, all shareholders were employees.
1994 – David Power, in conjunction with its shareholding partners, established Process Engineering Technologies (PET). PET provides comprehensive multi-disciplinary project management, construction and maintenance services for organisations in water, waste water and other utility infrastructure sectors. PET shares the same premises as David Power, has joint management, and a common Director.
